Speaker: DreamCon 41 in Cedar Rapids, IA

So DreamCon is an event they sponsor during ICON 41. In DreamCon, they bring in high school students that are aspiring writers., and I was a speaker this year. They set up several panels to talk about various writing elements, like tropes, story world, and character development. They even had one for artist advocacy. I was on the panel when we talked about tropes, advising the students to do their research. I also reminded them that “one” does not represent “all” when you’re writing about people different from you. I moderated the panel on Story World, and we all talked about story worlds we loved, and story worlds we hated. Check out my pics below and watch the vids. It was a great experience!
